A Flavor-Packed Butter Paste That Goes on Everything

This Butter Garlic & Herb Paste is rich, aromatic, and loaded with fresh flavor. Blended with rosemary, sage, parsley, garlic, Dijon, and smoked paprika, this paste is built to melt beautifully over meats, spread onto bread, or baste roasted veggies.

Whether you’re grilling, roasting, or just finishing a dish with flavor, this paste delivers depth, heat, and herbaceous richness in every spoonful.


Ingredients

  • 3 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 10 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1½ teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • ½ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 small shallot, finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Combine the Ingredients

  1. Add butter, garlic, Dijon, soy sauce, paprika, cumin, sage, parsley, rosemary, shallot, salt, and black pepper to a food processor or blender.

Step 2: Blend and Scrape

  1. Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and uniform.
  2. Stop to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. Blend again until everything is fully incorporated into a creamy paste.

Step 3: Store and Use

  1. Transfer to a container, ramekin, or wrap in parchment paper for storing.
  2. Refrigerate for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
  3. Use to baste meat, slather over bread, melt onto veggies, or stir into mashed potatoes.
