National Almond Day
February 16, 2024
On February 16th each year, National Almond Day recognizes the versatile and healthful almond. This delicious nut is native to the Middle East and thrives in warm, dry climates with mild winters. The day celebrates the benefits and uses of almonds.
Although their first place of origin is debated, almonds were thought to have first been cultivated in China and Central Asia. While traveling the Silk Road between Asia and the Mediterranean, explorers were said to snack on almonds during the long travel times.
