A Dish So Good, You’ll Want to Marry Yourself!

If you’ve ever heard of the Marry Me Chicken recipe, then get ready for its bolder, juicier cousin—Marry Me Steak Pasta! This creamy, flavorful pasta dish with tender, perfectly seared ribeye is so good, it might just have you proposing on the spot.

Perfect for date nights, special occasions, or when you simply want to treat yourself to something indulgent, this dish brings together a velvety sun-dried tomato cream sauce, rich seasonings, and steak cooked to perfection. If you’re not making your steak medium-rare, you might as well just go for ground beef (but don’t worry—we’ll walk you through it).

Let’s dive into how you can make this viral recipe that’s guaranteed to impress.

Ingredients You’ll Need

For the Steak:

  • 1-2 lbs ribeye (or your preferred cut)
  • 1 ½ tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1 ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • Pinch of salt

For the Sauce:

  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • ½ onion, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 ½ cups heavy cream
  • ⅓ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Dash of red chili flakes
  • Dash of Cajun seasoning
  • Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Additional:

  • 12 oz fettuccine or pasta of choice

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Season and Sear the Steak

  1. Generously season both sides of your steak with garlic salt, chili flakes, black pepper, onion powder, oregano, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Heat a skillet over high heat with a drizzle of oil.
  3. Sear the steak on both sides for about 3-4 minutes per side (for medium-rare). Adjust the time based on your preferred doneness.
  4. Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest before slicing.

Step 2: Make the Creamy Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, remove excess oil and add butter.
  2. Sauté the minced onion and garlic until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan for extra flavor.
  4. Stir in sun-dried tomatoes and let them cook for about 2 minutes.
  5. Reduce the heat and add the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and seasonings (onion powder, black pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, red chili flakes, and Cajun seasoning).
  6. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Step 3: Cook the Pasta

  1. While making the sauce, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions.
  2. Drain the pasta and toss it directly into the sauce, mixing well so each noodle is coated in that rich, creamy goodness.

Step 4: Slice and Serve

  1. Slice the rested steak into thin strips.
  2. Arrange the steak on top of the pasta.
  3. Drizzle with additional sauce and garnish with fresh parsley and basil.

Pro Tips for the Perfect Steak Pasta

  • Choose the right steak: A ribeye is perfect for this recipe because of its rich marbling and deep flavor. However, NY strip or filet mignon works too.
  • Don’t overcook the steak! Medium-rare (about 130°F internal temperature) is the sweet spot.
  • Use quality Parmesan: Freshly grated Parmesan melts smoother and adds a nutty depth to the sauce.
  • Let the steak rest: Allowing your steak to rest before slicing helps keep the juices locked in.
  • Balance the seasoning: The red chili flakes and Cajun seasoning add a little heat—adjust based on your spice tolerance.
