Ingredients
For the Ribs
- 1 pack beef ribs (typically 2 ribs per pack)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp Creole seasoning
- 1 tbsp Nature’s seasoning (or any all-purpose seasoning salt)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
For the Gravy & Veggies
- 2 tbsp ghee (or butter)
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup red wine
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 packet Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2½ to 3 cups beef broth (adjust for preferred thickness)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Season the Ribs
- Coat ribs with olive oil and generously season with onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, Creole seasoning, Nature’s seasoning, and Italian seasoning.

2. Let It Marinate
- For best flavor, let the ribs marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight if you’ve got time).

3. Sear for Flavor
- Heat ghee in a pan over medium-high heat and sear ribs for 3 minutes per side until browned.
- Transfer to an oven-safe dish.

4. Build the Base
- In the same pan, add sliced onions, bell peppers, and garlic; sauté until softened.

5. Deglaze & Build the Sauce
- Pour in red wine, add Worcestershire sauce, butter, and the beefy onion soup packet.
- Stir in flour to thicken slightly.

6. Add the Broth
- Slowly whisk in beef broth until smooth.
- Re-season the sauce using the same spices from step one.

7. Smother & Bake
- Pour sauce over the ribs in the baking dish, cover tightly with foil.
- Bake at 400°F for 2 hours.

8. Serve & Enjoy
- Once done, the ribs should be tender, flavorful, and ready to be served with rice, greens, or your favorite sides.

Pro Tips & Serving Suggestions
- Marinate longer for deeper flavor—overnight works best.
- Don’t skip the sear—it locks in flavor and helps develop the gravy.
- Deglaze with wine to add rich, restaurant-level depth.
- Pair with rice, greens, or mac & cheese to complete the comfort food experience.
