Seafood Salad with All the Flavor

This dish brings serious Black cookout energy: the base is a mix of purple onions, celery, and parsley, loaded with seafood, pasta, and seasoned like your auntie taught you. Whether you serve it at a gathering or meal prep it for the week, this cold seafood salad is easy to throw together, super filling, and absolutely delicious.


Ingredients List

For the Salad Base

  • 1/2 cup chopped purple onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Seafood

  • 1 cup cooked shrimp (pre-cooked or fresh)
  • 1 cup imitation crab meat, shredded
  • 1/2 cup lump crab meat (optional but adds richness)

For the Dressing

  • 3/4 cup or more of Hellmann’s (or “Monds”) mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1/2 fresh lemon, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon Salad Supreme seasoning (non-negotiable!)
  • Seasonings to taste (recommended: Old Bay, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and paprika)

For the Pasta

  • 2 cups cooked rotini pasta (or pasta of choice, cooled)

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Build the Base

  • In a large bowl, combine chopped purple onion, celery, and parsley.

2. Add the Seafood

  • Toss in your shrimp, imitation crab, and lump crab meat (if using).

3. Mix the Dressing

  • Add mayonnaise, mustard, fresh lemon juice, and all your seasonings — don’t skip the Salad Supreme.

4. Combine & Taste

  • Mix the base well before adding in your cooked and cooled pasta; season again if needed.

5. Mix by Hand (Optional)
