Sometimes you just want that nostalgic, stick-to-your-ribs comfort meal—but with flavor that goes beyond the box. This Cheesy Homemade Hamburger Helper is exactly that: a creamy, beefy, extra-cheesy skillet dish that comes together fast and hits every craving.

Made with whole grain macaroni, three types of cheese, and a blend of garlic, paprika, and red pepper flakes, this one-pot wonder takes the boxed classic and turns it into something satisfying, spicy, and soulful. Ingredients List

For the Cheesy Hamburger Helper:

  • 1 box whole grain macaroni noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded colby jack
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Cook the Noodles

  1. Boil the whole grain macaroni noodles in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

2. Brown the Beef

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.

3. Build the Flavor

  1. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Sauté until fragrant.
