- 2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp ground mustard
Gravy
- 6 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp Lawry’s seasoning salt
- ¼ tsp red pepper chili flakes (optional, for heat)
- 3 tbsp flour
- 16 oz broth (beef, chicken, or vegetable)
Mashed Potatoes
- 3 lbs Yukon potatoes
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 6 tbsp butter
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Make the Salisbury Steaks
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, eggs, and all steak seasonings until fully combined.
- Shape the mixture into oval patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Sear patties on both sides until browned (they don’t need to be fully cooked yet). Remove and set aside.

Step 2: Build the Gravy
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 1 minute.
- Add chili powder, onion powder, Lawry’s seasoning salt, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes.
- Slowly pour in broth, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
- Simmer until the gravy is rich and thickened.

Step 3: Smother & Simmer
- Return the browned patties to the skillet.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for 15–20 minutes, or until patties are fully cooked (160°F internal temp).

Step 4: Make the Mashed Potatoes
- Boil Yukon potatoes in salted water until very tender. Drain and return to the pot.
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream, butter, garlic, salt, pepper, chili powder, and smoked paprika until warm.
- Mash the potatoes while gradually adding the cream mixture, until smooth and creamy.
- Adjust texture to your preference with more cream or butter.
