And that wonderful person who was the first to think of it? Well\, they may just need to be named as a hero! \nCream cheese\, or at least certain forms of it\, have been found in culinary records in Europe for hundreds of years. This delicious ingredient was mentioned in England as early as 1583! In France\, the earliest records show up about 1651. So clearly\, at least in Europe\, they have a head start on enjoying that morning cream cheese fix. Made from a combination of milk and cream\, what is now recognized today as cream cheese didn’t make its first appearance on the market in the United States until 1873\, when it was first mass produced. The product that eventually led to the Philadelphia Brand was introduced by William A. Lawrence. From Chester\, New York\, he was the dairyman who took this yummy cheese from the farms to the tabletops – and eventually into brownies!

Historians claim that pizza-like dishes have been a common staple in the ancient Middle East\, but it was Italians who perfected and popularized the recipe. As World War II troops grew fond of pizzas while they served in Italy\, pizzerias also sprung up in the U.S. to meet the returning soldiers’ demands for pizzas. \nBaker Raffaele Esposito of Naples is mainly credited for the recipe and renown of modern pizza. In 1889\, Esposito’s restaurant Pizzeria di Pietro baked a special pie topped with tomato sauce\, basil\, and mozzarella to mark the royal visit of Italian King Umberto I and his wife. Before World War II\, pizza was largely a local dish eaten and sold by Italian immigrants in the U.S. However\, during the occupation of Italy by the Allied Forces\, soldiers resorted to eating local Italian cuisine and eventually grew to love pizza so much that the local bakers were hardly able to keep up with the soldiers’ demand for the dish. The war veterans brought their love for the Italian delicacy idea back home and largely contributed to its popularity in America. In 1905\, Lombardi’s — originally a grocery store in New York City owned by Gennaro Lombardi — became North America’s premier pizzeria. This subsequently led to the proliferation of pizza houses in New York City and all over the U.S. in later years.

There are a wide variety of uses for it in cooking; for cookies\, gingerbread\, sauces\, dark rye breads\, beers such as stouts or porters\, and of course\, molasses bars. In middle Eastern culture\, molasses is produced from dates\, grapes and pomegranates. It can also be blended with magnesium chloride and used for de-icing\, or as a soil additive to promote microbial activity. On early printing presses\, it was mixed with glue to case ink rollers.
