Caribbean and Jamaican style garlic butter lamb chops are a delicious way to enjoy this popular cut of meat. The combination of fresh herbs, garlic, butter, and spices gives the lamb flavor that’s hearty yet refreshing. The lamb is pan-seared until each side is perfectly golden and crispy, while the combination of the other ingredients gives it a rich and savory depth of flavor. The result is a succulent and unbeatable dish that’s popular throughout the Caribbean and Jamaican islands.
When it comes to preparing Caribbean and Jamaican style garlic butter lamb chops, the key is to use the freshest ingredients available. Begin by combining minced garlic, freshly chopped parsley, thyme leaves, a bit of salt, freshly cracked black pepper, and a pat of butter in a small bowl. Mix everything together until it forms a paste, which should be distributed evenly over both sides of the lamb chop. To maximize the flavor, a skillet is recommended over a traditional grilling method. As the meat is cooking, brush it with a mixture of olive oil and butter to ensure it stays nice and juicy.
Once the chops have been cooked to the desired degree of doneness, it’s time to transfer them to a plate. To really make the most of the flavors, serve the chops with a side of crusted potatoes or homemade mashed potatoes. The garlic butter sauce that absorbed into the meat while cooking will now be poured over the potatoes, adding extra richness and depth.
